The Purple One returns with his first new material of the year.
Prince is set to kick off the US leg of his Hit & Run tour this weekend. To mark the occasion, the funk icon debuted a new single, entitled ‘What If’, on Louisville radio station WFPK.
‘What If’ is a rock-leaning rework of a Christian song of the same name by Nichole Nordeman. Louisville native and 3rdEyeGirl drummer Hannah Welton lends her vocals to the tune alongside Prince.
The track is the first piece of new music from Prince since last year’s solo album Art Official Age and his debut LP with 3rdEyeGirl, Plectrumelectrum.
