For an insight into the state of British politics six weeks before a general election, look no further.

The Liberal Democrats have made a campaign video in the style of renowned video masher-uppers and parody kings Cassetteboy set to Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’, and to be honest, we have no idea why.

Surely the whole point of Cassetteboy videos is to make people say things they don’t want to say? You can see the meeting at party HQ now, brainstorming the “youth vote” while frantically scrolling through YouTube. It’s almost enough to make you feel sorry for Nick Clegg.
