The record explores how digital networks move our bodies.

Turin-based producer Daniele Mana aka Vaghe Stelle has announced Abstract Speed + Sound, a seven-track mini LP set for release through Nicolas Jaar’s Other People label.

The record takes its title from 20th century Turin artist Giacomo Balla’s 1914 work of the same name, drawing parallels between contemporary digital music and the Italian Futurist movement. Instead of a fixation on the automobile, Mana uses the record to explore digital networks, particularly “how they move our bodies and how our representations move through them.”

Abstract Speed + Sound follows recent records for Astro:Dynamics, Gang of Ducks and Danse Noire, all of which have seen Mana adopting an uncanny, digital approach to sound creation, something he continues on his latest record with the help of vocal samples taken from classic Italian films.

Abstract Speed + Sound is released through Other People on July 6 – until then you can stream ‘Multiple Concentric Hexagons’ below.
