The Australian act are strongly rumoured to be releasing a new single soon.

The Avalanches continue to lay breadcrumbs for their expected comeback album, with a hotline number you can ring to hear what we’re assuming is new material.

As a Reddit user noticed on some posters spotted by journalist Matthew Horton around London, you can call +44 800 098 8938 for “preview screenings” of their recent teaser video. (Update: US residents can now call (855) 953-3597 to take a listen.) What you actually get is a loop of what’s believed to be new Avalanches music.

On putting the track through Shazam, it was recognised as an Avalanches track called ‘Subways’, which definitely isn’t on 2000’s Since I Left You.

The track first featured on a teaser video that emerged earlier this week called ‘Since They Left Us’, which featured interviews with artists strongly expected to appear on their next album including Danny Brown and Ariel Pink.

As Stereogum points out, another new track from the video has been recognised by Shazam as a track called ‘The Wizord Of Iz’ by an act called Brainz – a name The Avalanches used as the title of a mix released in 2007.

A list of new releases for the week of May 20 suggests ‘Brainz’ will be releasing a track called ‘Frankie Sinatra’ soon – the name of a track Danny Brown said he’d made with The Avalanches back in 2012.

We’re still waiting for concrete information on new music from the act , but we know they’re going to be touring later this summer – dates for that below. [via Stereogum]

Tour dates:

June 3 – Barcelona, Primavera Sound
June 9 – London, Oval Space
June 11 – Brighton City Airport, Wild Life Festival
June 12 – London, Field Day
July 22 – Byron Bay, Splendour in the Grass
July 24 – Yuzawa, Fuji Rock Festival
