A new innovation in debuting tunes.

Aphex Twin had a booth at the 2016 Summer NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Show to debut his new EP Cheetah — which we have already heard three tracks from in anticipation of its release — and show off its namesake, the rare Cheetah MS800 synthesizer.

Synthtopia spoke to Hannah SilkChampagne from Warp Records about the hardware.

This is pure catnip for gearheads — the synth has not been made in over ten years and Warp believes Aphex used one of the last in its original packaging to record the EP.
