Columbia University in NYC will pay tribute to experimental composer Pauline Oliveros with an 11-hour broadcast on their non-commercial, student-run radio station WKCR today at 1pm EST. Oliveros died at age 84 last week.

The station “will play the work of the late Pauline Oliveros without interruption until midnight in celebration of a career that has changed the very ways in which people encounter sound.”

Over the weekend, artists like Holly Herndon and The Black Madonna, among others paid tribute to Oliveros. A member of clipping. wrote on Instagram, “I cannot express how influential her work has been to us (her composition, playing, teaching, writing, politics). There’s literally no artist I admire more.”
