We’d all like to be Spirited Away right now.

According to a report on Kotaku, acclaimed Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki has officially come out of retirement. Even better, he’s already working on his next feature.

Back in 2013, Miyazake retired from making movies, saying “This time is for real.” Thankfully, the 76-year-old hasn’t been able to keep himself away from Studio Ghibli. Since his retirement, he’s been learning how to use a tablet for animation – no mean feat for someone who’s spent a lifetime working in the “analog” realm.

Last year, Miyazake pitched a feature idea to producer Toshio Suzuki; now, in a pre-Oscars interview promoting The Red Turtle, Suzuki has confirmed that the feature is in progress and he’ll be producing. “Right now in Tokyo, he’s putting all his effort into making it [the feature],” Suzuki said.

The original idea was to have the film arrive before the Tokyo 2020 Olympics – we have to say, it can’t come soon enough.
