The good people at Stones Throw have furnished us with a vinyl copy of their new compilation, The Minimal Wave Tapes, to give away to one lucky FACT reader.

Compiled by Veronica Vasicka and Peanut Butter Wolf, The Minimal Wave Tapes collects fourteen DIY synth-pop jams from the late 70s and 80s. Most of these obscure tracks originally only ever saw very limited release on cassette or vinyl, but thanks largely to the work of Vasicka – who remasters and reissues this kind of gear on her own impeccable Minimal Wave label –  they’re now available to music-lovers unable to fork out hundreds on Discogs for the pleasure. The NY-based enthusiast’s hook-up with Stones Throw for The Minimal Wave Tapes should spread the gospel even further.

The pieces comprising the compilation range from shark-eyed, stripped-back synth instrumentals to soaring pop unclassics like Linear Movement’s incredible ‘Way Out Of Living’. Artists featured include Martin Dupont, Bene Gesserit, Oppenheimer Analysis and Mark Lane – not household names, granted, but all masters of frost-bitten analogue dreaming.

If you fancy winning one of these double-vinyl compilations, simply answer the following question:
