Not only is Mock & Toof‘s ‘Farewell To Wendo’ a cracking single, it also features our favourite cover image of 2010 so far (see above).

‘Farewell To Wendo’, out February 22, is the first single to be taken from M&T’s debut album, Tuning Echoes, scheduled to be released in May. Over the past few years this elusive UK duo has become one of the most respected names in nu-disco and beyond, releasing on DFA as well as their own Tiny Sticks imprint, and remixing the likes of Holy Ghost! and Hot Chip.

While the single is a vocal track featuring Pollyester, B-side ‘Day Ken Died’ is an instrumental affair, and also happens to be today’s free Daily Download. Despite its title, it’s not a mournful or melancholy affair, rather a bright, crisply produced slice of electronic boogie that reminds us of Metro Area (a lot) and Art of Noise (a bit).
