Lil Durk shows off his vision of Chicago in brand new single.

‘Dis Ain’t What U Want’ is the lead single from Durk’s delayed and hotly anticipated new mixtape Signed to the Streets, and emerges after the Chicago rapper’s surprise signing to the Def Jam label. Sporting a melancholy, heavily-autotuned vocal from Durk himself, the track owes plenty to Atlanta’s Future, but Durk’s not interested in love songs – ‘Dis Ain’t What U Want’ is a porthole into his tough-as-nails Chicago street life.

This is a surprising track, and a far cry from associate Chief Keef‘s menacing drill – it might be easy to compare Durk’s robotic hooks to Keef’s in ‘Love Sosa’, but ‘Dis Ain’t What U Want’ is, at its core an uncompromisingly bleak look at a side of the Chicago streets that still gets swept under the carpet.
