On Friday June 4, FACT and We Fear Silence will team up across two rooms at South London’s Cable, for a soon-to-be-legendary all-nighter.

Room 1 will feature a 90 minute set by Mala. One half of Digital Mystikz, Mala co-founded the DMZ label that remains, with the majority of its catalogue only available for collector’s prices, dubstep’s original great imprint. His own productions, among them ‘Left Leg Out’, ‘Blue Notez’ and ‘Anti-War Dub’, are revered in dubstep circles and beyond, and this year he’ll release his first ever album (sort of), Return II Space. Basically, if you call Mala the best dubstep artist ever, then very few would argue with you. He lost his record bag on a Belgian train recently, but now he has it back, and he is ready to bless this party like few others are capable.

Flanking him will be Berghain’s Fiedel, one half of the acclaimed MMM production team with Errorsmith. Their ‘Nous Somme MMM’ is arguably the club track of the year so far, and their past productions like ‘Donna’ are revered by those who know. As a DJ Fiedel blends the best in big room house with dubstep, grime and UK Funky – check his FACT mix, which is one of the best we’ve had this year, for proof.

Altered Natives would be one of our favourite new artists around, except he’s not new – the rest of us are just catching up. A broken beat man who now specializes in tough UK house, Natives’ ‘Rass Out’ from last year is still an anthem, played by the likes of Kode9 and Jackmaster, and his recent productions are every bit as good. With two albums due out this year, he’s packing dubs like few others.

Room 2 sports Seiji, the broken beat pioneer who’s still going strong, recent productions finding him revitalized and working with the likes of Toddla T, Roisin Murphy, FunkinEven and Riton. He’ll be backed up by Subeena, the melody-led, techno-leaning UK producer whose sublime ‘Analyze’ single for Planet Mu (not to mention her FACT mix) still gets serious play in our office, and Girl Unit and Deep Teknologi, whose debut releases (‘I.R.L’ and the forthcoming T. Wlliams EP, respectively) are two of the year’s best so far.
