Eastern Electrics Festival, the new day festival from one of London’s best-loved club promoters, has got off to a good start – tickets have totally sold out.

In the words of organiser Rob Star: “Everyone at Eastern Electrics is extremely pleased! We’d like to thank all our friends and fellow promoters who have helped spread the word, as well as the Peninsula Festival for giving us a home when we lost our original site. We’re now working hard to ensure we can deliver an event that we can all be proud of. See you down the front on August 4th!”

The good news for those who got in early – and the bad news for those who didn’t – is that Instra:mental’s Boddika has now been added to the bill. The man born Al Green has been deviating from his d’n’b roots in recent years, becoming a central name in the contemporary 130bpm-ish scene. He’s knocked out great releases for Swamp81, repeatedly collaborated with Joy O, and generally proven himself an inspiring and adaptable presence.

Joy Orbison, Julio Bashmore, Kerri Chandler, Huxley, Jamie Jones, Sebo K, Nina Kraviz, Geddes and Maceo Plex are among the many confirmed acts. Eastern Electrics Festival takes place on August 4, and will run from 11am-10pm. Further information is available here.
