Mala takes Mala in Cuba on European tour

Mala in Cubaa collaboration between dubstep colossus Mala and various musicians that he met on a Gilles Peterson-aided trip to Cuba, is already one of 2012’s most discussed albums.

The talk about the album has only heated up with the prospect of upcoming live shows, and a press release about a small Mala in Cuba tour has been released today. Some, such as a spot at Poland’s Unsound Festival, have already been booked in, others are fresh news, but there’s sure to be a lot of interest in how these live shows will pan out. We’ve already heard Peterson’s ambitions for the project (“I’m seeing the Roundhouse, I’m seeing Mala, some percussion I’m seeing Changuito playing congas … three thousand people bouncing like it was DMZ”), and today’s press release does emphasise that these shows represent Mala’s transition to a “live artist”.

Mala in Cuba live shows:
Oct 20 // Poland, Krakow – Unsound Festival
Oct 27 // Italy, Turin – Club to Club Festival Preview
Nov 17 // UK, London – Electric Brixton
Nov 24 // Netherlands, Amsterdam – MC Theatre
Nov 30 // Belgium, Brussels – VK
Dec 01 // Netherlands, Utrecht – Le Guess Who Festival
