Goodie Mob lynchpin and Gnarls Barkley frontman Cee Lo Green is being investigated following allegations that the singer was involved in an incident of sexual battery.

As The Daily Mail report, a woman has filed a report (obtained, predictably, by TMZ) with the LAPD which accuses the star of abusive behaviour at a restaurant in downtown Los Angeles. Police have reportedly interviewed a number of employees at the restaurant, and are continuing to follow up leads.

Cee Lo has denied the accusations, claiming not to have been to the restaurant in question for months and claiming “nothing ever happened there or anywhere else”. The case has yet to be sent on to prosecutors, let alone developed to the stage where charges could be brought.

Cee Lo has had similar brushes with the law in the past. He was arrested in 2001 for supposedly threatening his former wife and smashing the windows of their car. He subsequently spent two days in jail on disorderly conduct charges, and was placed on probation for a year.

Green has just released Xmas LP Cee Lo’s Magic Moment, featuring contributions from the likes of Rod Stewart and B.o.B.
