New Nine Inch Nails song coming next month?

With the industrial rock heavyweights set to reform, could a new song be out soon?

Antiquiet points to a since-deleted tweet by Bryce Segall, of Seattle’s 107.7 The End: allegedly, a new Nine Inch Nails song is due out on June 6. After fulfilling contractual obligations with Interscope in 2007, Nine Inch Nails released two albums independently, each with two weeks notice, so this is not outside the realm of possibilities.

Late last year, Trent Reznor announced plans for a NIN greatest hits compilation that was set to have two new songs and a 2014 release; a new Nine Inch Nails album was rumored to follow.

Reznor reformed his longtime project earlier this year, bringing Jane’s Addiction bassist Eric Avery, King Crimson guitarist Adrian Belew, Telefon Tel Aviv’s Josh Eustis, and former NIN touring partners Alessandro Cortini and Ilan Rubin into the fold. A series of summer festival dates has been announced.
