XL Recordings tease new Atoms For Peace album

Update: XL have stated that the photo is actually a detail from an Atoms For Peace screen print in their office.

“We’ve been posting a few office details recently […] to give people an insight into what goes on in the office. This was meant to be another of those,” they told us, adding that it’s “definitely not a teaser” for a new album. Boo! Oh well, at least Radiohead are up to something.

And that’s all you’re getting for now.

There appears to be a new Atoms For Peace album on the way, according to a post on XL’s Instagram. The picture includes two phrases, which read “11 Paranoias” and “For The Benefit Of All Mankind” – we’d wager that the former sounds more like an album title.

The supergroup – comprising Thom Yorke, Flea, longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, drummer Joey Waronker and percussionist Mauro Refosco – released their pretty decent debut album, Amok, in 2013. The band later made headlines for pulling the album off Spotify, labelling the streaming service “bad for new music”.

Back in September, Yorke tweeted a picture of a mystery record, leading to speculation that another Atoms For Peace album was on the way. He’s also been back in the studio with Radiohead over the past few months.

For the benefit of all mankind #atomsforpeace
