It’s hard to imagine the Kanye we know and love today as a young boy, but this footage of him laying down a freestyle rap aged 12, proves he had talent from the start.

Recorded by Kanye’s late mother Donda West in 1990, the rap features such prescient lines as “I’ll diminish other MCs on the Top 10, I bump them.” You can watch it below.

Last night, Kanye sent congratulations to his “guy” Leonardo DiCaprio on his Oscar win. DiCaprio picked up the Best Actor award for The Revenant, in the 2016 Academy Awards which also saw Ennio Morricone scoop the Oscar for Best Score for his work on Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight.
