Beyoncé paid tribute to the victims of the recent shootings in Orlando last night (June 14) as she closed the first leg of her Formation World Tour in Detroit.

The attack on Orlando LGBT Club Pulse in the early hours of Sunday morning is the deadliest mass shooting in American history, leaving 50 dead and 53 injured. Also in Florida last weekend, Former Voice contestant Christina Grimmie was tragically shot and killed by Kevin James Loibl as she was signing autographs at a concert venue.

It’s also been revealed the singer has raised more than $82,000 for victims of the Flint water crisis in Michigan, by giving fans the option to contribute donations when purchasing tickets. It was announced back in April that the Detroit show would include an event that will “serve as a celebration of the resourcefulness of the people of Flint and Detroit, Michigan.”

Handing over the cheque to the United Way of Genesee County on Monday, Beyonce’s team said that the money would aid the efforts of residents who continue to deal with the city’s tainted water supply.

14 of Detroit’s high school students were also chosen to receive “college gifts” to help with their educational expenses.
