Composers Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch were hired to write additional music for the film earlier on this year.

Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson is no longer involved in the making of Blade Runner 2049.

According to Icelandic newspaper Fréttablaðið, Jóhannsson – who was originally hired to score the forthcoming Blade Runner sequel – has been removed from the production team.

Jóhannsson’s involvement in the film was first revealed last August. In July this year, it was reported that Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch had been brought in to assist Jóhannsson with the score.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Blade Runner 2049 hits cinemas on October 6.
