There’s been ’nuff hype about Hidden, the new LP from Southend’s These New Puritans, and rightfully so – it finds the band getting way more out there with their instrumentation (according to Angular’s press release the record sports six-foot Japanese Taiko drums, a thirteen piece brass and woodwind ensemble, a children’s choir and a melon with cream crackers attached struck by a hammer to replicate the sound of a human head exploding), and generally being way more rhythmic and way more interesting.
