House of the Rising Sun.

John Lennon lived at 9 Newcastle Road in Wavertree, Liverpool until he was five years old , and now the small terraced house is due to be auctioned off later this month.

The three bedroom property is located near the iconic Penny Lane (yes THAT Penny Lane), and is due to fetch somewhere between £150,000 and £250,000. Lennon lived in the house with his parents and grandparents before moving in with his aunt and uncle – he is however rumoured to have written ‘One After 909’ from Let It Be there.

The house’s current owner shed some light on the state of the property:

“I have made sure original features have been preserved so that they reflect the 1960s period, when the Beatles wowed the whole world with their rock and roll music. The main structure of the house and features, such as the original Victorian sliding sash windows, are as they were when John Lennon lived here with his parents and his grandparents from 1940 onwards.”

If you fancy owning an indisputable piece of music history, you know what you have to do. [via NME]
