God bless Weezer. No, really, God bless Weezer.

The iconic pop geeks have never been cool, but they’ve spent the last decade or so becoming lamer than ever, largely on the sense of calling albums things like Raditude, recording awful anti-drug songs and not making amazing music like they once did on their landmark first two albums – and, to be fair, much of their third one.

Still, as far as pop curiosities go, there’s few more intriguing. And in a career full of weird decisions, the choice of sleeve art for their latest album is right up there. That’s right, it’s the picture of Jorge Garcia – better known as Hurley from Lost – above.

The album will also be called Hurley, after the character. It will be released on punk label Epitaph on September 14 after a long career spent releasing on Geffen, and features a track called ‘Run Away’ that’s co-written by Ryan Adams.
