Flying Lotus announces new EP for Warp

It’s only a few months since Cosmogramma, Flying Lotus’s third full-length album and easily the most ambitious project the Californian producer has embarked on to date, but already he’s announced a new EP for Warp, Pattern+Grid World.

In the label’s words, where Cosmogramma aimed to converge 20th and 21st century musical forms, “high in concept and wide in musical collaboration”, this EP focuses on Flying Lotus’s hardware, with synth and vocoder playing a starring role in EP opener ‘Clay’.

Pattern+Grid World is seven tracks long, and features art by Theo Ellsworth, which you can see a section of above. It will be released on September 21 via Warp, and packaged with a poster, also designed by Ellsworth. You can view the poster and full artwork here, and stream a track from it, ‘Camera Day’, on the Soundcloud link below.

Tracklist:
01 Clay
02 Kill Your Co-Workers
03 PieFace
04 Time Vampires
05 Jurassic Notion/M Theory
06 Camera Day
07 Physics for Everyone!
