Currently incarcerated Young Money millionaire Lil Wayne is suing his former booking agents for allegedly stealing over $300, 000 in touring proceeds.
The Ujaama Talent Agency, who’ve booked the rapper on a non-exclusive basis since the early stages of his career, have been accused of transferring “an amount not less than $375,000” into their accounts, for money they claim to be owed for several tours in 2009.
The lawsuit against Ujaama was filed on August 16 in the Supreme Court of New York, with Wayne’s permanently busy lawyer Ronald Sweeney claiming to have had various conversations with Ujaama’s owners, Erskine Isaac and David Nelson, asking for the money back, with the pair frequently refusing.
Wayne’s currently mid-way through an eight month prison sentence, after being convicted for criminal possession of a weapon in 2007. However, in brighter news for Wayne and his team, Cash Money, the label he started on and the parent company to his own Young Money imprint, have made a series of new signings to their roster, including former Bone Thugs N Harmony man Bizzy Bone and general super-producer DJ Khaled.
