The new Addison Groove LP, although far from a failure, didn’t exactly set our world on fire either.

Album highlight ‘Bad Things’, featuring vocal contributions from Spank Rock, exemplifies what works about Addison Groove’s sugary juke. The cut has now got a new video, and it does a good job of accentuating ‘Bad Things” good points.

The clip is little more that an artier version of Wiley’s ‘Wearing My Rolex’ video, but there’s some great dancing and lush cinematography on display. If ‘Bad Things’ (and Transistor Rhythm as a whole) is perhaps a bit too simplistic for its own good, Pit Bredimus and Marcus Wolfschmidt’s monochromatic shots highlight the more malevolent aspects of Addison Groove’s sound.
