Soundcloud user Yhanick has uploaded audio of a rotted copy of Aphex Twin’s Selected Ambient Works Vol. II.

Disc rotting is when a CD, DVD or other form of optical disc becomes unreadable due to physical or chemical deterioration, often – as is the case here – scrambling the audio. Now given how stretched out, weird and and beautiful the original music on SAW II is, you might not be surprised to discover that it’s even more stretched out and weird – and still pretty beautiful – once its data’s been scrambled.
