The ascendant California rapper shares another darkly-toned video.
Like ‘New York’ before it, the video for ‘Werkin Girls’ is suggestively violent and the perfect accompaniment to Haze’s equally vicious rap.
The strobe-lit video is full of seizure-inducing cuts, as Haze dons Freddy Krueger claws and watches over a game of jump rope that goes horribly wrong. A tinfoil-faced menace (that we assume isn’t John Talabot) shows up, and everything goes to hell.
‘Werkin Girls’ appears on Haze’s recent mixtape Reservation, a play on the California rapper’s Native American heritage. Haze is certainly one to watch, especially after her silver-tongued freestyle in last night’s youth movement cypher at BET’s Hip Hop Awards.
