The smoky singer (and Black Hippy collaborator) shares a new video.

‘Mirrors’ is a gentle, sober portrayal of someone confronting their self-image. Produced by Key Wane, the song rings out with snares that reverberate like they were recorded in an empty warehouse and a twinkling music box melody.

The video (directed by Topshelf Junior) features woozy, degraded footage of Aiko as a ballerina as she goes through a bit of internal turmoil reminiscent of Black Swan. A brief, stray shot of Aiko covered in blood underscores the track’s dark side.

Watch the video above. Via Twitter, Aiko had this to say about ‘Mirrors’: “i wrote a song to sing to myself … on days like these … when i look in the mirror and it disagrees”.
