At her gig last night at London’s XOYO, reinvigorated R&B singer Solange Knowles brought The xx’s Oliver Sim onstage for a cover of Nicole Wray’s ‘Make It Hot’. The 1998 single was co-written by Missy Elliott and produced by Timbaland, giving it the kind of lineage worshipped by the current generation of R&B obsessives.

Solange is currently in the midst of a brief world tour. Last year, The xx curated a series of Los Angeles exhibitions and counted Solange among their featured performers.
