Hudson Mohawke on the unreleased 'Sweet Silverskin'

Here’s another unreleased joint from FACT’s Man Of The Year 2012, last heard shilling for Adidas.

‘Sweet Silverskin’ was premiered last night as part of The Blessings’ regular guest spot on MistaJam’s BBC Radio 1Xtra show. The track sounds like it could have been plucked straight off of 2009’s Butter – it’s glossier than a Crufts winner, and carried by imitation horn fanfares and some roof-down low end. Update: If it sounds like a Butter-era track, it’s for a reason: HudMo takes to Twitter to tell fans that, “That silverskin tune is from 2010, you haven’t heard any new music from me, careful what you believe.”

HudMo will release a new solo album in 2013, and promises a more cohesive and ambitious record than its predecessor: “This one is a bit more consolidated as a project. I want it to be like an album album, you know? [It’s still sample based] but there are also live instruments. Strings, horns, trumpets…I wanted to make it more musical in general and less computer focussed. I want to step out of the electronic bedroom producer role and move into a musician producer role.” [via Do Androids Dance]
