One of last year’s best labels lines up more killer techno for 2017.
According to a press release from the label, PTU are Alina Izolenta and Kamil Ea, two friends who bonded in the mid ’00s over synth sessions with friends.
“The duo spent their childhood in Siberia and on Volga, and their salad days in music schools and early clubs of their respective home cities,” the label says in a press release.
“Back then accessing the internet was only possible via pre-paid cards that came in envelopes. Music — via pirate CDs and endlessly slow mp3 downloads. Friendships would stem from copying music from hard drive to hard drive.”
According to the label, A Broken Clock Is Right Twice A Day is released on April 7, and features seven tracks recorded in Kazan and Moscow, some of which date back to 2014.
трип hasn’t released any previews of the record yet, but the title track featured on Kraviz’s recent Fabric 91 mix. They also contributed a track called ‘Taorak’ to the label’s When I Was 14 compilation, released last year – stream that below.
