He’s done it!

Stormzy has taken the no. 1 album spot for his acclaimed debut Gang Signs & Prayer.

The news was announced today (March 3) by the Official Charts Company who also revealed that the grime star has beaten Drake in the streaming stakes, racking up the most first-week streams for a no. 1 album in chart history.

It’s the fastest-selling grime album ever and the first independent grime album no. 1 in UK chart history, beating Skepta’s Konnichiwa, Kano’s Made In The Manor and Dizzee Rascal’s Boy In Da Corner. Stormzy has also exceeded the first-week streams of Justin Bieber and his latest album Purpose.

The 16-track album features a secret cameo from Lily Allen, while Wretch 32, J HUS and Kehlani all make guest appearances.
