Sadly, no Sheeran.
Stormzy’s debut album Gang Signs & Prayer is finally here and it’s a bold, yin and yang statement that mixes straight-up grime bangers with R&B slow jams.
Fans were already expecting guest spots from the likes of Ghetts, J Hus, Wretch 32 and Kehlani, but listen closely to track eight, ‘Cigarettes & Cush’, and there’s another British voice you might just recognize – Lilly Allen.
Stormzy wasn’t allowed to credit Allen on the track, which he told The Fader “sounded like Sunday. It just reminded me of being with a female and smoking bud and being mad chilled.”
