Trillectro attempts to bridge the gap between emerging hip-hop and electronic acts with a Washington, DC festival.
Trillectro, as the portmanteau suggests, aims to be at the point where hip hop and electronic music meet. While these two scenes are becoming increasingly intertwined, not many festivals have focused on this particular nexus.
Claiming to be “the first music festival in the [D]istrict of its kind,” Trillectro takes place August 11 at DC’s Half Street Fairgrounds, a venue modeled after Brooklyn’s Dekalb Market. The Fairgrounds reuse salvaged shipping containers to surround a main stage, bar areas, tents and gaming space. Hosted by Doug E. Fresh and dubstep MC Khadafi Dub, Trillectro’s diverse lineup is as follows:
