Video production collective Daruma Vision have teamed up with London bloggers GETDOWNORDIE for a new series of club nights in the capital, Tokyo Wax.

The first in the series takes place on May 24, with Hyetal leading the charge. Based in Bristol, Hyetal emerged with a series of hypercoloured dubstep singles on labels like Punch Drunk, Soul Motive and Reduction, before releasing his debut album, Broadcast, on Black Acre. We suspect that his as-yet-untitled second album, due for release later this year, will see him separate further from dance music and establish himself as one of modern synth-pop’s most promising acts. Meanwhile Velour, his collaborative project with Julio Bashmore, continues to go from strength to strength.

Also on the bill is Deadboy, the South London producer whose Smithsian take on house and garage looks set to develop further on new EP Blaquewerk, and MadTech’s Applebottom. The first Tokyo Wax event takes place at East London’s Rhythm Factory; for more information and tickets click here.
