In the wake of Blur/Carly Simon mash-up ‘Unbreak My Mixtape’, M.I.A has offered up a further taster of her imminent fourth album.

Matangi, we now know, will hit the tubes in early November. It’s subsequently been confirmed that the album release will be prefaced by a new single, ‘Come Walk With Me’, due on September 3.

Seasoned M.I.A-spotters will recall that a version of the track did the rounds about 18 months ago. Where that take was a roughneck blend of kuduro and J-Pop, the single proper is glossier and chirpier – a souped-up doo-wop number that, for 15 precious seconds at the start, almost sounds like Young Marble Giants.

Head here to stream the snippet, and peep below to enjoy the strobetastic artwork. Matangi is due on November 5 (unless, of course, M.I.A leaks it first).

Update: ‘Come Walk With Me’ is now streaming in its entirety – and, we’re be pleased to hear, is much closer in spirit to the 2012 snippet than the 90-second teaser suggested. Head here to listen.
