Manuel Göttsching’s position as one of the leading lights of the krautrock scene is unassailable.

Over the last four decades, the Berlin native’s inhabited a number of crucial incarnations: kosmische vanguardist (with Ash Ra Tempel), pioneer in minimalist guitar music (his solo mid-1970s run) and techno forefather (with 1984’s seminal E2-E4, one of our five favourite albums of the decade). With Göttsching recently in town to play his first London date in 13 years for Need2Soul/Oval Space Music, FACT TV sat down with the Berlin native for an extensive chat about his life and times.
