The modular synth composer performs his new work in the building that inspired it.

Keith Fullerton Whitman will debut a new composition titled Redactions on October 9 at Boston’s City Hall. The setting is especially important since the piece is inspired by the government building’s Brutalist architecture which makes use of large open spaces and raw concrete.

According to the event info, the performance hinges on Whitman’s use of these acoustics and will be preceded by some opening remarks from architect and expert Chris Grimley. Attendance is free although space is limited.
