“Wait until you hear this new shit,” says Big Boi.
Big Boi and Killer Mike are collaborating on a joint EP.
In an interview with Spin yesterday (August 22), the OutKast co-founder said: “Wait until you hear this new shit,” before revealing that “Killer Mike is busy as hell” and the pair are just “trying to put as many ideas out there as possible.”
“We’ve been entertaining the idea for a long time and finally got enough songs to where we just said the other night that we’re gonna do it.”
He says that the duo will drop their EP following the release of Big Boi’s next solo record – the follow-up to 2012’s Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors – which he says is “halfway done.”
This wouldn’t be the first time the pair have collaborated. Killer Mike popped up on both OutKast’s Stankonia and Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, while Big Boi made an appearance on Killer Mike’s 2003 debut Monster and more recently on Run the Jewels’ ‘Banana Clipper’.
