Om Unit embraces ‘Simple Pleasures’ on skittering Reso remix

As demonstrated on his Aeolian EP, Om Unit’s a dab hand at producing beefy hip-hop/footwork with IDM flourishes.

The Tempo Clash man’s remix of Reso’s ‘Simple Pleasures’ keeps the Tangram cut’s original formula (pretty synth chirrups + heavyweight bass) intact, but nudges up the BPM and adds some skittish drum programming. The results are highly reminiscent of his work with Machinedrum as Dream Continuum (an almost-anagram, fact fans), and add extra urgency to Reso’s shimmering original.

The remix is taken from Reso’s Tangram Remix collection for Civil Music, due on April 1. Remixes arrive courtesy of KOAN Sound, Starkey, Danny Scrilla and Drop The Lime, amongst others.
