Moodymann this week unveils a new limited edition (ain’t they all?) 12″ EP featuring five previously unreleased tracks from the vaults.

The 12″, credited to Moody and out now on the producer’s own KDJ imprint, is called Ol’ Dirty Vinyl, and it traverses a range of styles, from cracked jazz to his trademark low-slung house sound.

Some brief notes on the provenance of each track are provided. Lead track ‘Ol’ Dirty Vinyl (U Used To Know)’ was apparently recorded in three hours “in Vienna in some hotel near the castle”, while ‘We Don’t Care’ (featuring Pitch Black City) is from some time in the late 1990s. The Mick Collins-featuring ‘No Feedback’ was recorded live in Detroit at a Dirtbombs show, and ‘It’s 2 Late 4 U And Me’ (with Bubs Fiddler on bass and Amp Fiddler on keys) was recorded in London, 2009. As for closing salvo ‘The Hacker’, Moody simply says, “Don’t remember (long fckin time ago)”.

Tracklist:

A1. Ol’ Dirty Vinyl (U Used To Know)
