Animal Collective‘s Avey Tare will release a new album, Down There, on October 25 via Paw Tracks.

Brooklyn-based Tare – real name Dave Portner – has recorded nine songs for Down There, his first official solo full-length. Sessions took place at “an old church in upstate New York, surrounded by The Great Swamp and visited regularly by monks, white widows and groan toads”, with a helping hand from Tare’s old friend and sometime ‘Collective member Josh ‘Deakin’ Dibb.
