The first edition of the newly revamped So Bones will feature a DJ Screw tribute from Tri Angle records.

So Bones was a sporadic clubnight based between London and New York, managed by Tri Angle (home of Balam Acab, stalk_er, oOoOO and more) label boss Robin Carolan. It’s now a regular London night at new Dalston venue The Nest, with a residents crew of Tri Angle, Girl Unit, DJ Tearjerker, Romy xx and Tom Lea. There’s also going to be a So Bones Bristol, helmed by Julio Bashmore and Hyetal amongst others, with a New York So Bones to debut in the not-too-distant future.

To read more about DJ Screw, the pioneer of the chopped ‘n’ screwed style that influences so much of modern-day music, the New York Times have a piece on his legacy with quotes from Salem, Tri Angle and more.

The order of the night is cutting edge R’n’B, hip-hop and pop, with no ironic back-patting. The night will open at 9 with the Screw tribute set, and runs til 3am. Entry is free before 10, £4 thereafter.

The line-up for the first edition is a full friends and family affair, and reads as follows; you can RSVP to the Facebook group here.

Velour (Hyetal & Julio Bashmore)
Girl Unit (Night Slugs)
DJ Tearjerker (Numbers)
Romy xx (the xx)
Tri Angle (DJ Screw tribute set)
Tom Lea (Local Action)
