The line-up of the 2011 Dour festival, which takes place on July 14-17, is now complete.
Public Enemy, Ellen Allien, Hercules & Love Affair and Ice Cube are among the final announcements, joining the previously announced likes of Boris, Laurent Garnier, Booka Shade (live), Neurosis, Bibio, Claude VonStroke, Factory Floor and Anika.
Jarvis Cocker’s reunited Pulp will be belting out the hits, joining a bill that already includes smoked-out rap veterans Cypress Hill, Mogwai, Pendulum (live), Kyuss Lives!, Chennel Zero, Suede and AaRON, Flying Lotus, swinging house maestro Joy O, Berghain/Ostgut techno powerhouse Len Faki, Kevin Martin’s post-apocalyptic lovers’ rock outfit King Midas Sound, Kode9 + Spaceape, Martyn (playing live, we’re interested to note), Tocadisco, Aeroplane, Pearson Sound, Untold, L-vis 1990 b2b Bok Bok, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (live), Netsky, Camo b2b Krooked, a True Tiger label showcase, Shitmat, LeFtO, Surfing Leons and Electric Wire Hustle.
Also just added: a ton of metal, hardcore and heavy rock acts including Papa Roach, Life of Agony, Skindred, Angel Crew, The Ocean, T.C.M.F.H., Anthrax, Madball, Channel Zero, Agnostic Front, Uncommonmenfrommars, Ill Niño, Drums Are For Parades ft. Shamans Of The Deaf Country, Le Bal des Enragés, Karma To Burn, Kylesa, Fozzy, The Ghost Inside, 50 Lions, Terror, Arma Gathas, Dagoba and Born From Pain.
Vitalic will bring his full band to perform their epic ‘Vitalic V Mirror live’ show. Erol Alkan, The Qemists, Luke Vibert, Jamaica, Dirtyphonics, House of Pain and Trolley Snatcha have also been added, along with a Digital Soundboy showcase featuring ShyFX, Breakage, B Traits, Donaeo, Youngman and Stamina.
LA hip-hop extrovert The Gaslamp Killer (picture) is on board, along with House of Pain, Shantel & Bucovina Club Orkestar and The Amplifetes. The 2010 edition of the festival featured Chris Cunningham, Faith No More, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, The Sonics, Benga and Tinariwen among many others; expect a similarly big-hitting and diverse programme for this year’s outing.
Founded in 1989, Dour has built up a reputation as one of Europe’s friendliest large-scale festivals, playing host to musical talent that ranges from the stadium-friendly to the assuredly underground. It takes place once again in the village of Dour, in the Walloon region of Belgium.
