To celebrate the launch of Field Day’s brand new webzine – featuring exclusive mixes, streams, features and news – this Saturday’s Field Day night at XOYO, featuring Omar S, Midland and more, will now be a free party.

The night is being staged to whet punters’ appetite for the Field Day festival on August 6, but offers thrills and spills aplenty in and of itself. FXHE badman Alex ‘Omar’ Smith should need no introduction by now, his brand of tracky, stripped-back but righteously grooving house and techno (“the Motown minimal sound,” as he once memorably described it) now a fixture on the global scene (ugh, did we just use the phrase “global scene”?).  We’re looking forward to hearing him give the venue’s new 8-way soundsystem a good workout.

The night takes place this Saturday, May 7 and runs 9pm-3am; support comes from Midland, Casper C and more (full line-up below).

The Field Day webzine will be launching next week as part of fielddayfestivals.com with an exclusive recording from this Saturday’s free party at XOYO along with a photo gallery from the night.

To get in simply turn up to XOYO, but our advice would be to get there by midnight to ensure entry…
