Rob da Bank is set to play his alternative soundtrack to the original 1933 King Kong movie live this Friday.

The film was screened on BBC 4 last year December with a recorded version of the Sunday Best boss’s modern accompaniment, essentially a DJ set taking in tracks from Bon Iver, Laurie Anderson, Brian Eno, Rusko and beyond. The scheduled screening on Friday, part of the FutureEverything festival in Manchester, will be the first time that he’s played the set live. The full tracklist is below.

“I’ve been digging through my record library and trying to take things from a different angle,” says Bestival founder Da Bank. “Being such a great film it has made it a lot of fun to do. My soundtrack takes in everything from dubstep to rock and lots of electronica and weird beats. I hope people enjoy it!”

Also performing at FutureEverything this week: Fucked Up, Steve Reich, Warpaint, Martyn and many others. More information here.
