Will Bankhead’s Trilogy Tapes imprint has seen the veteran graphic designer make a series of timely interventions in the current confusion of the global dancefloor.

Releases from Dro Carey, Kassem Mosse and others – often foggy, esoteric constructions skulking around house music’s outer fringes – have maintained their outsider status whilst attracting serious attention from the broader scene.

It seems the fifth vinyl release on the label will come from US operator Willie Burns [via The Quietus]. Burns has a handful of releases to his name for Crème Organization and Ron Morelli’s L.I.E.S., though the producer’s discography under his birth name – William Thomas Burnett – dates back to 2007 and includes a stint on Legowelt’s Strange Life Records and a cassette release for Not Not Fun.

The two tracks featured on the Trilogy Tapes release [artwork pictured], which you can stream in full below, are in Burns’ characteristically woozy, hardware-driven style. ‘Duh Duh Dunk’ chugs along at a dreamy, hypnotic 115bpm, while ‘The Overlord’ is a far more sinister beast, all clipped, dissonant hardcore pads and an anxious bassline. TTT005 is due out on Trilogy Tapes imminently.
