Hear Trent Reznor's Call Of Duty: Black Ops II theme

Trent Reznor’s recent period of industry continues with some music to chuck smoke grenades to.

As seasoned gamers will know, eagerly awaited shooter Call Of Duty: Black Ops II is set to arrive on November 13. Intriguingly, the game’s soundtrack will also get a full commercial release on the same day, and features over 40 tracks. The biggest draw on the album is a theme from Nine Inch Nails/How to destroy angels_ workaholic Trent Reznor, and the piece is now available to hear in full.

The theme is a well-wrought exercise in electro-rock pomp, centred around Reznor’s trademark buzzsaw grind. Reznor’s trailed the track as having “a lot of reservation and angst and sense of loss and regret and anger bubbling under the surface”; as you’ll discover below, it’s a very different beast to the Manic Miner soundtrack. How to destroy angels_’s comparatively dreamy An omen_ EP is also currently streaming in full. [via Consequence Of Sound]
