Mala‘s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix is now available to hear in full. 

Both solo and as half of Digital Mystikz (and a third of the team behind the DMZ label), Mala helped pioneer dubstep, producing many of the sound’s all-time classics. Last year he released his debut album, Mala in Cuba. His two hour session for Radio 1’s long-running Essential Mix series opens – in what has become something of a Mala tradition – with Mark Pritchard, before rolling out material from Quest, Coki, Swindle, Loefah, Sly & Robbie and more. It closes on James Blake’s remix of Mala’s ‘Changes’.
