Cloud rap? Nah.

Sometimes known as DJ Yo-Yo Dieting and sometimes known as Indignant Senility, Pat Maher is sporting the Expressway Yo-Yo Dieting moniker for ‘Adored Ammunition’, but the interchangeable name never seems to dampen his obsession with screwed ‘n chopped rap music and an abundance of overdrive.

Through a phased, crunch of manic vocals and blotchy beats, Maher manages to hold thing together with a rare mastery, managing to come out of the muddy slop intact, inexplicably. We have no idea how he manages to get this stuff sounding so crucial (check 2010’s Bubblethug LP for more evidence)  – but it’s something of a masterstroke that has to be heard to be believed.
